Mid January update...

January has provided a lull thus far with low call volume and plenty time for training. The sign on the front of station 6 has been repainted for the first time in 25 years, thanks to a generous community member. FF Cooper attended the fire academy for a one day structural fire control class simulating multi-story structure fires, including basement fires. Stay tuned for updates to come, stay safe.

Catching up for the fall

Rockville firefighters have been extremely busy training and responding to incidents throughout Putnam County. This high volume of activity is the reason for the lull in updates to the blog. From extrication training ( removing victims from various vehicular conditions) to live burns ( Simulated structure fires). Rockville personell have responded to various emergencies throughout the area including motor vehicle accidents, dryer fire's, tree's on powerlines and a handful of medical calls. We appreciate the continued support of all our residents and followers in the area. The funds raised in 2012 were substantial enough to purchase a misting fan to aid in the rehab of firefighters, and other equipment needed by the fire department. We will discuss the december association meeting in a seperate post soon to follow. We look forward to serving the residents of Putnam County in 2013, if there is anything we can do to better serve you do not hesitate to contact us. Rockville Volunteer Fire Department is always ready, Proud to serve!

Below you will find pictures we have captured since our last update... Enjoy!
