School bus Extrication
Rockville firefighters attended a special rescue training with eatonton fire dept and the county rescue battalion. Firefighters practiced patient removal from a school bus. Windows were turned into doors and techniques were practiced using a plethora of tools.

Busy fall thus far...
September and October are turning out to be somewhat busy for Rockville volunteers. Rockville personnel have responded to various calls throughout the county as of recent. Station 6 assisted in the extrication of a patient from a one vehicle accident on Texas chapel rd, the patient was then airlifted. One FF from Rockville responded to a small structure fire on s. Steel bridge rd that was extinguished shortly after arrival. Station 6 personnel also responded to a reported fire on crooked creek rd to assist south battalion stations, however upon arrival it was found to be a false alarm. Pictures below are in rewording order. Also a reminder there will be a workday to beautify and perform a fall cleanup around station 6 this Saturday OCt 13 from 9-12 refreshments will be provided. District training 10/1/12
Rockville personell attended district training at harmony fire department last night. Members participated in simulated search and rescue. Locating a victim In a structure as well as methods of fire extinguishment.

Hazmat training night
Station 6 psrsonnell attended district training tonight, covering hazmat topics. Hazards are everywhere and we are training to better serve you!
September meeting of the RVFDA.
The September meeting took place this past Saturday. Bylaw amendments were passed as well as the approval of the past quarters expenditures. A work day was also set for October the 13th. Everyone is encouraged to come lend a hand cleaning around the station. The meeting was concluded with a demonstration on fire extinguisher operaion.

Training night
Rockville personell inspected apparatus and practiced quick dressig into their gear this evening. Rockville fire department would like to extend their thoughts to those lost on 9/11. A tragedy that affected the world as well as the fire service. We shall never forget the 343 firemen that gave the ultimate sacrifice that day. Godspeed brothers!

Dry hydrant testing
Rockville fire personell tested the two dry hydrants in station 6's first due territory this evening. Dry hydrants provide a way to draft water from a static source (lake or pond). This is instrumental in establishing a water supply in the rural area we live in.
